Princeton is about 5 miles West of Le Claire, Iowa and is located on US Highway 67.  Princeton is a small town but it has two cemeteries.  The Oak Ridge Cemetery is in Princeton up on the hill.  It’s co-ordinates are N41° 40.097’ W090° 20.956’.

To get to the Oak Ridge Cemetery I used, as usual, a starting point of the corner of Jones St. And Cody Road (Highway 67) in Le Claire, Iowa.  Go 4.9 miles North on US Highway 67 and just as you enter Princeton turn left on Cherry Street.  You will go just a few yards and the street will turn right onto 2 nd Street.  In just 0.1 mile turn left onto Locust Street.  It is 0.4 miles to the cemetery.

The Salem Lutheran Cemetery is about 3.5 miles West of Princeton.  It’s Coordinates are N41° 40.770’ W090° 24.237’.  It is more difficult to find.

To get to the Salem Lutheran Cemetery I used, as usual, a starting point of the corner of Jones St. And Cody Road (Highway 67) in Le Claire, Iowa.  Go 5.6 miles North on US Highway 67.  Turn left on Lost Grove Street go 3.5 miles. Note that Lost Grove Street will turn into Lost Grove Road when you leave town.  Turn left and go 0.2 mile to the “T” in the road. Turn left and go 0.2 mile to the cemetery.

I obtained access to the official records for the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.  I went to the cemeteries and photographed the head stones and monuments.  If there was any doubt that the photo would be readable due to glare, wear or anything else I took a number of photos.  Then I compared the official data to the photographs.  I made corrections as required.  I did everything possible to make sure my data file was correct.
