The Glendale Cemetery in on 14th Street in Le Claire, Iowa.  The Glendale Cemetery Association was established in 1830.

The Fairview Cemetery is about 3 miles West of Le Claire, Iowa on Territorial Road, which is on the North edge of Le Claire.   It’s Coordinates are N41° 36.761’ W090° 23.918’.  The Fairview Cemetery was surveyed and the plot map created May 22, 1867.

The Jacks Cemetery is about 2 miles North of Le Claire, Iowa.  It is a fair size cemetery, out in the country and is a very nice cemetery.  Coordinates are N41° 38.001’ W090° 21.935’.  To get there first go to the North edge of Le Claire, Iowa on US Highway 67.  There, right next to the gravel quarry, you will find the Territorial Road.  Turn left onto it and go 0.7 mile.  Turn to your right and go North 1.6 miles to the cemetery.

For all three cemeteries I obtained access to the official records.  I obtained access to two types or records for the Glendale Cemetery so I compared them and created my own data file.  I then went to  the cemetery and compared my data to the actual head stones and monuments.  I made corrections as required.  I did everything possible to make sure my data file was correct.  After comparing the data file to a stone, I photographed it.  If there was any doubt that the photo would be readable due to glare, wear or anything else I took a number of photos.  For the Fairview and Jacks cemeteries I took the photos and then compared them to the official records while I created my data file. If I found a difference between the records and the headstone I considered the headstone as correct.
