Free Bookmark Sync Between Your Browsers And Computers

I have been using Xmarks since the early days when it was called Foxmarks and it only supported Mozilla Firefox browser (for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux). Shortly after they started supporting Microsoft Internet Explorer (for Windows only) they changed their name to Xmarks. Now they also support Safari (for Mac OS X only) and have a version for Google Chrome. I am using them all except the version for Safari and haven’t had any problems with them.

Xmarks is so easy to use and works so well that I believe anyone that uses more than one browser or computer should use Xmarks. It will make your life so much easier when it comes to keeping your bookmarks (shortcuts) organized that you will never be without it.

Let me tell you just a little about Xmarks. Download and install it on all your computers and for each of the browsers listed above. Whenever you make a change to your bookmarks on one of the computers it will change the bookmarks on all of your browsers and computers. When you change browser or computer the new bookmark will be right where you put it. Here is how it does it. It stores your bookmarks on their computer. Yes, it is password protected. When you start your browser Xmarks checks their copy and downloads it into your computer and it then appears as it always did. You will never know the difference in using your bookmarks. If you make a change to your bookmarks it will upload the changed file when you close your browser and it will be ready for you the next time you go on line. The Firefox version will also save your passwords if you want it to. That works great also.

Once you set Xmarks up it is almost maintenance free. You can force it to upload or download when you want to but you don’t have to. Let’s say you have two browsers open and make a change to the bookmarks on one of them. You don’t want to close your browsers but you want the changed bookmarks available right now for both browsers. Simply force it to upload the changed data on the one and then download it on the other. Then both will be the same and you don’t have to close all the windows you have open.

All this and it is FREE. Can’t beat that. I highly recommend that you give Xmarks a try. After you do, stop back here and let me know what you thing of it.

Have A Great Day
