How To Leave A Comment

Please review my "Comment Policy".

I have had a few people from my Email contact list send me an Email and express their opinion on one of my sites or post. They told me they couldn’t figure out how to leave a comment so they would do it by Email. I decided that maybe other people had the same problem so I am writing this. Many of you won’t have a problem but for those that do, the instructions are below.

The first time you leave a comment you will have to follow these steps. After you have an approved comment you don’t have to enter all the information, you just have to enter your comment. Here is what you need to do the first time. This applies to both Blog Post and Pages. Many sites don’t let you post comment to pages. I thought this would be a good place to post questions, provide information or whatever so I allow comments on pages as well as post.

1. If you are on the home page and you see the first part of the Blog Post that you want to read or comment on, click either the Post Title or on the "Continue Reading…" at the bottom of what you are reading.

2. Go to the bottom of the post and you will see "Leave a reply"

3. If you don’t have a comment approved on this site yet you will see places to enter your name and your email address. You must enter them. I don’t sell or give away your email address and it won’t be displayed with your post. I may contact you if necessary in the future if there is something I think you should know. These are mandatory.

4. If you have a website and want to let people know about it this is a good place to do that. Enter your website address. This is not mandatory.

5. Enter your comment in the box.

6. Below the box you will see some strange looking letters and numbers. These are "Captcha code". This is a graphics so automatic posters (SPAM) can’t post on the site. No one wants to read a bunch of SPAM while trying to read comments. To the right of the Captcha code you will see two small buttons. The top one will read the letters and numbers to you if you can’t read them and the bottom one will give you new letters and numbers if you can’t read them.

7. Below the Captcha code is a small box for you to enter the letters and numbers in. You do not have to use capital letters if you don’t want. It makes no difference.

8. If you want to be notified by email when someone else makes a comment on this post or page, check the small box for that.

9. If you use Twitter and want to advertise your Twitter account you can enter that in the Twitter box. You only need your Twitter name not the word Twitter.

10. Press "Submit Comment". After you submit your comment you have 30 minutes to make changes to it in case you say something you are sorry for, like call me names. Most sites don’t allow this or if they do they give you about 5 minutes. I want to give you plenty of time to change your mind on what you say.

11. Other people won’t be able to see your comment until I approve it. I only have to do this the first time you make a comment. The reason for this is to make sure you aren’t a SPAMMER (I hate those guys) or using a lot of bad language.

The next time you want to leave a comment (after I approve your first one) you won’t have to do all this. My software will recognize you when you enter the site and you will only have to enter your comment.

You can also reply to other people’s comments. If you see someone’s comment and you would like to make a comment on it, add to it, or whatever you can. Right under their name you will see the date the comment was made and just to the right of the date you will find the word "Reply". If you click that you will be able to make a comment just like always but it will be attached to theirs and will be indented slightly. This "threads" them and people can easily read one then the next and the next etc.

I hope this helps you understand how to make comments on my site if you were having problems.

Have A Great Day.
Bob Jones
